FSU's Allyson Cappel Garners GLIAC Player Of Week Award For Fourth Time This Year

Big Rapids, Mich. - Ferris State University senior hitter Allyson Cappel (Tinley Park, Ill.) has been picked as the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) North Division Volleyball Player of the Week for the fourth time this season.

Cappel had another big weekend for the Bulldogs in a huge league road sweep in the Upper Peninsula.

The standout totaled 25 kills and 14 digs in Friday's win over Michigan Tech in a divisional showdown and then came back with 18 kills and 13 digs in Saturday's 3-1 win at Northern Michigan.

For the weekend, she hit .287 as the Bulldogs moved to the top of the conference standings and into the driver's seat to potentially win a sixth-straight league title and earn the top seed for the GLIAC Tournament.

With the two wins, Ferris State is now 13-2 overall in league action and leads Michigan Tech by a half-match in the conference standings with a one-match edge over Ashland following weekend play.

Ferris State will visit Northwood for its final regular-season match on Friday, Nov. 15, starting at 7 p.m. (ET) in Midland.
