Big Rapids, Mich. - Three members of the Ferris State University women's volleyball squad claimed All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) recognition for the 2021 spring campaign and FSU earned one of the league's major awards as the all-conference squads were announced on Thursday evening.

FSU senior libero Nina Gorgijevska (Postdam, Germany) was tabbed as the GLIAC's Libero of the Year in voting by the league's member head coaches while senior outside hitter Katie O'Connell (Evergreen Park, Ill.) joined her on the All-GLIAC First Team. In addition, freshman setter Kaylee Maat (Hudsonville) was an All-GLIAC honorable mention choice.

Gorgijevska ranks as the GLIAC's leader in digs with 330 on the year, averaging 6.60 per set for the Bulldogs. The two-year starter has started all 14 matches and played in all 50 sets for the Bulldogs entering the conference tournament. Gorgijevska has posted at least 15 digs in all 14 matches for the Bulldogs and compiled 20 or more digs 11 times to date. She notched a season-high 36 digs in a 3-1 home win over Ashland on March 5 and also totaled 32 digs at Northwood on March 19. Additionally, she's totaled 34 assists and 14 aces for the Bulldogs, who posted a 10-4 regular-season record.

A two-time All-American, O'Connell has played in 12 matches this year and compiled a squad-high 156 kills with 181 digs to go with 27 total blocks and nine aces. She's averaged 3.63 kills and 4.21 digs per set for the Bulldogs, ranking among the league leaders in both categories.

Finally, Maat has been the squad's primary setter this spring, playing in all 14 matches and 50 sets for the Bulldogs. She's posted 522 assists, averaging 10.44 assists per set to go with 27 aces, 16 kills and 11 blocks. The rookie setter ranks among the league's top five in assists per set on the season.

Ferris State, which is the number four seed for the GLIAC Tournament, will face fifth-seeded Northwood in the quarterfinal-round on Friday (April 9) starting at 4 p.m. (ET) in University Center, Mich.
